 Tawau is the district of Tawau Division and the third largest town of Sabah. Sabah and Sarawak are often referred to as East Malaysia. East Malaysia, Brunei and Kalimantan constitute the entire island of Borneo.
Tawau is located at south-east coast of Sabah which face the Celebes Sea to the east and the interior mountain ranges to the west. The geographic coordinates of Tawau are latitude 4.233 degree North, longitude 117.883 degree East.The main town area can be divided into two sections, i.e. Sabindo and Fajar. Federal House, where most government offices such as the immigration department and national registration department are to be found in Sabindo area. Where else, Fajar is the commercial area, where some major banks such as HSBC and Maybank are located. Besides, the district court is also situated here. |
